A NOTE FROM
Kenneth
As a lifelong resident of the municipality of Kincardine, I have a lot of pride in our community. Growing up and raising my family on a dairy farm outside Tiverton gave me a front-row seat to the opportunities and challenges that living in this community presents.
I first got into politics 25 years ago to protect rural interests and have served our community in a variety of roles, most recently as Mayor. At every Pipe Band Parade, Fall Fair, Multicultural event and Monday Market, I hear what residents , businesses and visitors love about our community and what their frustrations are.
I’ve spent my life investing in Kincardine and working towards solutions. I’m determined to continue building a community that we can all be proud to call home. For this generation and the next.
I feel deeply and personally connected to many of the issues brought forward because they echo the conversations we have at family gatherings. My children, nieces, nephews and their spouses are actively navigating the Kincardine job and housing markets. I have children in my family at every single school in Kincardine. I’ve been a lifelong resident who has watched our communities grow, evolve and change.
Over the past 4 years, we have accomplished a lot together. We completed the reconstruction of Queen St, preparing our downtown for the next 100 years, we invested in recreation facilities like the Tiverton Arena to expand their lifespan, we updated our zoning bylaw to make it easier to build here and we implemented aggressive road safety measures.
But the job isn't finished. I'm running for re-election so we can maintain the momentum we have built. Together, let's embrace the opportunities on the horizon, tackle the challenges we are facing and maintain the small-town, welcoming character that makes our community feel like home.

Key
PRIORITIES
One of the most important questions candidates should be asked is "Where should the municipality go and how do we get there?". To answer that question, we have to know where we are and what strengths we should build on. There are many areas of opportunity for well-managed growth, operational improvement, targeted investments and stronger partnerships that will help us serve both the residents today and the generations to come.

ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT
Bruce C represents a generational opportunity for our community and we must be ready to capitalize on this potential investment. There are also opportunities to enhance investments in our tourism, agricultural and commercial sectors.
Strategic actions must be taken, focused on acquiring municipally-owned land to facilitate commercial and institutional expansion.

AFFORDABLE
HOUSING
The Housing Committee has developed the Housing Action Plan 2.0, with bold recommendations and concrete actions focused on speeding up housing development, stream-line permitting processes, create a wider variety of housing options and guiding active municipal involvement in the provision of affordable housing in our community.
Increasing the availability of affordable housing units is essential to supporting families, young people, seniors and local businesses.

LOCAL
INFRASTRUCTURE
As our Municipality grows, our infrastructure cannot get left behind. Critical water and wastewater projects must advance while the resolution of lagoon performance is a top priority. Investments in municipal recreation facilities must move ahead to meet the needs of our growing populations and provide opportunities for youth, families and seniors. Repair and rehabilitation of rural roads and bridges are needed to ensure our agricultural sector can continue to thrive.

COLLABORATIVE
LEADERSHIP
As the leader at the Council table, the Mayor's role is not to dominate discussions, but to create a space where all perspectives can be heard and respectful debate flourishes. Working together, with Council and community partners, is critical. During this term of Council, record-setting grants and financial investments have been secured for the Municipality - demonstrating the importance of cultivating effective working relationships with colleagues, businesses, community groups and other levels of government.
